Habakkuk

I had staff wives lunch today and we actually listened to 3 sermons this time. It was the sermon series on Habakkuk that Pastor Craig Groeschel did in April. Holly picked this out over a month ago and who would have thought it would be so timely for me. I got so many things from this sermon. The book is about going through a difficult time and not understanding why God is letting it happen but trusting in Him through it all. Habakkuk questions God and even wrestles with God on the issue, but comes to a place where he knows that God is sovereign.
These two verses really spoke to me.
LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. Habakkuk 3:2

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. Habakkuk 3:17-19

Both girls had great days today. Adleigh is looking much better. She had an echo today and it showed no infection had gone to her heart. She still has her PDA and it is small to moderate size so they are still just going to watch it. She hasn't had anything grow in her spinal fluid culture, this is such an answer to prayer! She started eating today. She weighs 2 lbs 11 ounces! She is getting to be such a big girl!
Adleigh being so peaceful.

Liana is still on her nasal cannula and doing so well. She moves up to 12 ml of food at 11 tonight. She weighs 2 lbs 1 ounce. She is just straight up chilling. We are going to try and let Wade kangaroo care her tomorrow and that will be the first time he will hold her! I love these two beautiful girls!

As I continue to pray for your specific needs, my heart is filled with joy at the progress the girls have made. I pray that Wade gets his chance tomorrow to kangaroo care with Lianna, and that she settles in and enjoys it as much as I know he will. Love you all.

Ferris,

Thanks so much for taking the time to e-mail me back.

I took some time this morning and prayed especially for Wade, you, and the girls. I prayed that Wade would have a good time holding Lianna for the first time and she would do well with it. I also prayed that the girls would have a great day today and all the results will be great.

We believe the Report of The Lord!!
1 Peter 2:24

Praise God that all is going so well. My son Micah was born premature and I remember how sweet it was when I was finally able to hold him. He relaxed, and so did I! Our family, especially our three year old Asher, has been praying for you and your girls.

Hi there. My name is Rachel. My brother Rodney Morton informed me of you and your babies. I want you to know that I'm praying everyday for your girls and for you and your husband. I too had a baby girl at CMC born at 28 weeks. I'd like to give you the link to her blog. But fist let me tell you that she beat EVERYTHING that prematurity threw at her!!!! She was a very strong fighter! Although she did pass away (from a heart defect) her story is amazing and a great inspritation to anyone who is going through a NICU stay. I hope you get the chance to read it. The site is carlynicoleelliotte.blogspot.com

I'd love to talk and pray with you. If you want I'm always here. Feel free to email me at carlynicoleelliotte@gmail.com

I love Habakkuk. He starts with a burden and ends with a song, not just one but 5 songs: Song of the Beloved (rejoice in the Lord), Song of overcoming (I will joy in the God of my salvation), Song of strength (God is my strength), Son of agility (H will make my feet like hinds feet), and Song of continuance (Maks me walk on high places). Can you imagine! God never answers His questions! His questions highlight the symptoms, God's answer highlights the cause. He is not so concerned with symptoms as He is causes.

Your little girls are so precious. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date.
