Photo Shoot

We are off to the pediatrician in about an hour. I will have to post what their new weights are later on. We went to the eye doctor yesterday and the whole trip took 4 hours! Both girls eyes look great. We still have to go back in 2 weeks, but the doctor thinks that they are progressing nicely. Adleigh has to go get an ultrasound Friday at 10 am to look at her liver and then at 12 pm she has a HIDA scan which is a nuclear medicine study to check her liver/gallbladder. The horrible thing is that Adleigh can't eat anything past 6 am that morning. So she is going to go like 8 hours without food! She can't even have sugar water or anything. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to keep a baby calm that can't eat?
The girls had a little photo shoot. And we have a great family shot. So here they are (yes Adleigh is asleep in most of them):

Hi! I'll be praying for y'all, especially for Adleigh not being able to eat before procedure! My son had 3 surgeries before he was 8 months old, and he was TINY for his first one and we had the same kind of thing with the no eating for hours before! In addition to lots of prayer, here are some things to try: pacifier... Baby swing is good distraction... walk in the stroller...etc. Oh, I will definitely be praying and also praying that her 6 am feeding satisfies her for miraculous number of hours (like the Bible story of the tiny amount of oil that kept overflowing keeping the lamp burning.)(:

Pray, Pray, Pray!!! Our daughter had to have an MRI when she was 4 months old and she could not eat for at least 6 hours, if not longer. When we got to the hospital and were waiting our turn there was an emergency and she was delayed a few more hours. Many people were praying for her, and God amazingly showed up and she did not get hungry.

I will be praying for Adleigh and for y'all as well.

sometimes breastmilk can be a little different bc it is digested so easily? did you ask them about that?
( brittan gotbeter, faithful reader from charleston sc, found you through a call for prayer from nate davis when the girls were born!)

Love the photo's

When Joshua went in for his minor surgery it was the same thing (he was 8 weeks old). We went in a little early and when they heard him they came and gave him a sedative.

Not saying you should do that but if things become crazy maybe you can try it!

Hi,

Just wanted to check on the girls since you left NICU and NPCN, thank goodness!! I tried to get over to say goodbye before you left with Liana, but missed you by 15 minutes. Anyway, love the updates, you guys are great...

Love,

Darlania (your old NIU nurse)
